Personally, I don't typically make New Year's Resolutions; I'm not really into the whole "new year, new me" idea. However, as the calendar transitions from one year to the next, I take some time to reflect. I review my spending and investment performance from the previous year, and I begin to consider my purchases and goals for the upcoming year.
I find changing habits appealing - especially those that aren't benefiting me – and adopting ones that align with my goals. This year, my partner and I went to a small cabin in the woods to discuss our goals for 2024, covering everything from finances to holidays to relationship goals. I appreciate this reset, even though we haven't always been consistent with it. I borrowed this idea from a friend who, for decades, has been going on a January reset with his wife (they do it in Hawaii, a bit fancier than our cabin retreat!).

So, while I don't view it as a traditional New Year's Resolution, I have set some goals to achieve in 2024. How about you? Do you use the new year as a time to reset and reflect?
